Malaysia’s first merchant bank
International Merchant Bankers Berhad was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1965 on 3 December 1970 as a public limited company. On 1 February 1971 changed its name to Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad. Subsequently changed its name to MIMB Investment Bank Berhad on 30 December 2006.
Shareholding
MIMB Investment Bank Berhad is a wholly owned subsidiary of EON Bank Berhad. As of May 6, 2011, EON Bank Group, consisting of EON Bank Bhd, EONCAP Islamic Bank Bhd and MIMB Investment Bank Bhd, are now part of Hong Leong Bank Group.
EON Bank Group is principally involved in banking and related financial services (including Islamic banking business), finance company business, investment banking and nominees services. MIMB Investment Bank is the investment banking arm of the EON Bank Group.
